GIFTEDNESS ASSESSMENTS CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS

Some children and adolescents have a unique constellation of intellectual skills that require special programming within the school board or academic enrichment. 

A giftedness assessment through Edcommodate is designed specifically to identify children or adolescents who may be gifted and require tailored programming within the school or special programming.  A typical gifted assessment includes the following elements:

• Clinical parent interview
• Interview with the client (if appropriate)
• Intellectual testing
• Adaptive functioning testing
• Academic achievement testing (where required)
• Information from standardized rating scales examining executive social-emotional functioning

The results of a gifted assessment are used to quantify a child or adolescent’s level and pattern of functioning in various domains to determine appropriate programming options for the child.  Specific recommendations for enrichment opportunities within the school or community context are also provided.
