Payment & Private Insurance
Psychological assessment services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) or public health benefits. However, many individuals have private insurance that will cover all or part of the psychoeducational assessment. Moreover, there are some potential sources of funding for individuals in College or University that will cover part of the evaluation.
Payment for services is made in two amounts and a receipt will be given when payment is received. The first payment installment for assessments is due after the clinical interview and testing have been completed, and the final after the feedback session before the report is released. Payment can be made by etransfer, cash or cheque. Clients are provided with a receipt for all payments for submission to any private insurers for reimbursement or for income tax purposes.
Edcommodate will always provide receipts for any payments received and either personal or parental health care insurance may cover all or some of the cost of a psychoeducational assessments. Some personal or parental Employee Assistance Programs (EAP’s) may also cover some of the cost of a psychoeducational assessment.
Cancelled and Missed Appointments
In order to maximize the effectiveness of psychological services, clients should make psychological services a high priority and should not cancel sessions except in cases of emergency. If a conflict arises and a session must be cancelled or rescheduled please allow 48 hours notice in advance of intention. If a cancellation is made with less than 48 hours notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $500.
