Dayle Denney, M.Ed., R.Psych.
Registered Psychologist
Dayle has been a registered psychologist in Newfoundland and Labrador since 2008 and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has enjoyed a career as a School Psychologist in the province since 2006 but has also worked in private practice for over 10 years, both offering individual therapy as well as psychoeducational assessment for adult clients.
Dayle has also been highly involved with the promotion of the field of psychology in her home province, both as former Secretary and former President of the Association of Psychology in Newfoundland and Labrador (APNL), and more recently, as the former Communications/Administration Co-Director and co-founder of Psychologists in Education (PIE), a Special Interest Council of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association. She continues to hold memberships with these organizations as well as with the Newfoundland and Labrador Counsellors’ and Psychologists’ Association (NLCPA), which named her School Psychologist of the Year in 2019.
Dayle’s areas of professional interest and specialization include ADHD, specific learning disorders, trauma- in particular, complex and developmental trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and gender and sexuality. Her work is guided by a neuro-affirming and intersectional lens. Throughout her career, Dayle has also volunteered her time to various community organizations as well as to independent initiatives, including teaching yoga to children and school staff, and facilitating eating disorder prevention groups for adolescent girls. In her personal time, Dayle is an avid reader, music lover, yoga practitioner, and teacher, and she lives in scenic Clarkes Beach, Newfoundland with her husband and their dog.
