Navigating life with constant distraction, restlessness, or difficulty completing tasks may be more than daily stress – it could indicate Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). At Edcommodate, we offer ADHD assessments online for adults, providing clarity and actionable next steps.

Our virtual format allows adults across Ontario and Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador) to access ADHD assessments from the comfort of home. Our ADHD assessment online for adults is half the price of our psychoeducational assessments, making it a more affordable alternative for those specifically looking for concrete answers regarding ADHD symptoms, rule outs, and ADHD diagnosis.

Who Benefits from an ADHD Assessment Online

The virtual ADHD assessment is designed for:

  • Adults 18-50 who want clarity about common symptoms of ADHD or are seeking a formal ADHD diagnosis.
  • Anyone encouraged by a family member, primary care provider, or mental health professional to pursue a thorough assessment for ADHD.
  • Adults with children diagnosed with ADHD who may see similar traits in themselves and are seeking answers.
  • Adults requiring workplace or post-secondary accommodations for ADHD symptoms.
  • Individuals who frequently make careless mistakes or struggle to stay focused during tasks that require sustained attention or a lot of thought.
  • Adults who have had long time difficulty with time management, organization, repetitive work, or completing a difficult project from start to finish.
  • People experiencing challenges in social situations, such as turn taking, listening, or maintaining focus in conversations.

What The ADHD Assessment Covers

Attention & Focus

We examine inattentive symptoms of ADHD, such as losing items, difficulty sustaining focus, and mental fatigue, following best practices and the diagnostic criteria outlined in the Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).

Executive Function

Our assessment explores working memory, organization, time management, task initiation, planning, and the ability to complete long or demanding projects – areas commonly affected in ADHD.

Emotional & Behavioural Regulation

We assess restlessness, impulsivity, difficulty unwinding, emotional overwhelm, and regulation challenges that affect daily life and relationships.

Daily Functioning & Productivity

We explore how symptoms of ADHD impact work, home responsibilities, academic performance, and your ability to cope with challenging parts of everyday routines.

Key Features of the Assessment Process

Document Review

We review medical history, childhood report cards (when available), primary care notes, or past evaluations that may be important for understanding long-term functioning.

Collateral Interview and/or Information Review

Incorporating collateral interviews and thorough information gathering in an adult ADHD assessment enhances diagnostic accuracy and leads to more effective treatment planning. We understand that patients may not always feel comfortable involving others or may not have someone available to provide collateral information. While this input is not mandatory, it can be very beneficial in creating a more complete understanding of the individual’s situation, symptoms, and with an ADHD diagnosis.

Clinical Interview (Virtual)

A detailed conversation and deep dive with the psychologist into your medical history, family history, daily life challenges, workplace or academic barriers, and long-standing concerns related to ADHD.

Assessment Report

A clear, comprehensive report summarizes whether you meet the criteria for a diagnosis of ADHD, along with recommended coping strategies, school and workplace accommodations, treatment options, and recommendations for ADHD care.

The report also includes recommended ADHD treatment plans, psychotherapy, and ADHD coaching recommendations.
