At Edcommodate, we offer specialized giftedness assessments designed to help families, educators, and school boards gain insight into a child’s unique cognitive profile and exceptional abilities.

Our in-person assessments evaluate cognitive ability, problem-solving skills, reasoning capabilities, processing speed, working memory, and academic performance to facilitate the early identification of giftedness and inform personalized educational planning.

Utilizing standardized tools and tests, our assessments identify exceptional talents, guide appropriate school placements, and outline next steps for gifted programs, private schools, or homeschooling environments. Our experienced psychologists and psychological associates are well-versed in gifted testing for school-aged children and the criteria that must be met for school boards.

Who Is This Assessment For?

A giftedness assessment is suitable for families and children who:

  • Are aged 5–17
  • Exhibit advanced problem-solving skills, exceptional reasoning, or cognitive abilities
  • Demonstrate strong working memory, fast processing speed, or notable verbal and quantitative reasoning
  • Quickly grasp new concepts and require enriched learning environments or gifted programs
  • Show high levels of curiosity, creativity, or outstanding performance in academic or artistic fields
  • Have received referrals for gifted testing from parents, teachers, or school boards
  • Seek a clearer understanding of their child’s strengths, learning style, and cognitive attributes

Key Features of the Assessment Process

Standardized Giftedness Testing

Our giftedness assessments utilize IQ tests and achievement tests, such as the Wechsler Intelligence Scale (WISC-V), to evaluate reasoning, working memory, processing speed, and academic performance.

Assessment Report

Families receive a comprehensive report detailing exceptional abilities, and recommendations for school placements, gifted programs, or Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).

Feedback Session

When requested, we offer a final virtual or phone meeting to review assessment results, answer any questions, and provide guidance on future steps and enrichment opportunities.

Why Giftedness Assessments Matter

Understanding a child’s unique cognitive profile and exceptional talents enables families and educators to create learning environments that both challenge and support the child.

Early identification ensures that gifted students or gifted children receive the appropriate enrichment, accommodations, and personalized educational plans, fostering their academic and personal development.
