Dr. Shrenik Parekh, Adult Psychiatry with Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Edcommodate team is pleased to be working with Dr. Shrenik Parekh as part of our multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Dr. Parekh completed his training in General Psychiatry at State University of New York (SUNY) in Buffalo, New York in 2010. He also completed a fellowship in

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon in 2012. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for Adult Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Parekh has been practicing at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario since 2012 working in various settings including outpatient, inpatient and emergency psychiatry departments. He also provides consultation in various collaborative care models.

He has an adjunct faculty position at McMaster University, and is actively involved in teaching medical students and Psychiatry resident doctors. Dr. Parekh received the Dedication to Education award in 2016, from McMaster University Health Sciences and the undergraduate teaching award in 2017.

He has also been participating in medical volunteerism in Guyana (South America) as an educator and an advisor to the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Parekh is very excited to be a part of the Edcommodate team. He will add tremendous value to Edcommodate patients in certain circumstance where a multidisciplinary assessment may be required. This includes the psychiatrist and psychologist consulting one another, as well as an assessment with the Psychiatrist of the patient, a written report including diagnosis management, recommendation for symptom management and medications. The Psychiatry consultation report is sent to the treating General Practitioner or Pediatrician for ongoing management and implementation as agreed with the patient or guardians of the patient.
